Brittany McClanahan

BrittanyBrittany is currently the Global Talent Acquisition Operations Manager at Black & Veatch. She started her recruiting career in the power industry in 2010, and has continued to work for companies leading the way within the Engineering and Construction industry. She has worked in Talent Acquisition at B&V since 2014, starting as a recruiter and then moving to multiple leadership positions prior to her current role. Brittany not only values growth, but also opportunities to learn and develop within her current position. At B&V she’s served as an Human Resources Business Partner, graduated from the Central Exchange Emerging Leaders Program, worked on strategic initiatives, managed change, and challenged processes.

Jen Parker has been at Burns & McDonnell since 2006 working in the HR Department. Currently, Jennifer is the Recruitment Manager on the Engineering, Architecture and Professional Services side of the business.

Prior to working at Burns & McDonnell, she spent seven years at Truman Medical Center as a Nurse Recruiter and HR Manager.

Molly Weaver, MBA, is the Director of Talent Acquisition for Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. She is responsible for all hiring for the hospital with the exception of physicians and has been with the hospital nine years. The goal of Talent Acquisition at Children’s Mercy is to ensure that the organization has the talent it needs in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills now and in the future.

Prior to joining Children’s Mercy she was a Senior Recruiting Manager with responsibilities for recruiting programs for T-Mobile USA. Her focus is on attracting and keeping top healthcare talent for Children’s Mercy while ensuring the candidate experience is the best it can be. Current initiatives include internal mobility, use of video in innovative ways, building internal skills through tuition programs and extending the reach into high schools to ensure talent is there for the future.

CrossFirst Bank

Susan is currently the Talent Acquisition Manager at CrossFirst Bank where she responsible for managing all of the Talent Acquisition function across multiple states. Susan has over 20 years of experience in corporate talent acquisition, hiring at all levels of an organization, solid background in developing sourcing strategies to attract top talent, working closely with organizational leaders to understand not only their business needs but also their strategy; along with priding herself in developing strong relationships.

Prior to joining CrossFirst Bank, Susan was the Executive Recruiter at DST, responsible for the oversight of recruiting for all of the executive level positions across all lines of business. She also enjoys giving back to local organizations and is also on the Executive Board for Epsilon Sigma Alpha for the state of Missouri serving as Workshop Coordinator.

Dairy Farmers of America

Director, Talent Acquisition     

Kyle has been in Talent Acquisition for more than 15 years and has recruited nationwide for all levels of roles, most recently to add talent to the dairy cooperative. These roles range from member services, supply chain, finance, manufacturing and human resources.

 At Dairy Farmers of America, Kyle manages a team of seven recruiting and compensation professionals, focused on adding talent to our corporate office and 40+ additional locations. As a business partner, she supports other departments as the organization continues to grow.

Kyle graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Prior to joining DFA, she worked in the financial sector and temporary staffing industry.

Deena Byers is the Human Resources Manager at Dimensional Innovations where she leads a team of recruiters to attract, hire and onboard the many diverse skillsets that DI requires. People and organizations can be a puzzle and it’s all about finding the right fit! With 13 years of experience in HR, 9 of those have been with DI in a rapid growth environment. While committed to creating an excellent candidate experience, Deena is passionate about overall employee experience. Performance management, career development/training and Diversity & Inclusion are a few of the other areas she works within.

Deena and her husband are recent “empty-nesters” with their daughter off to K-State. She’s looking forward to finding more time for volunteering, traveling, SUP’ing (new favorite hobby) and adventures with her dogs.

Sara Solcum HeadshotSara is the University Relations Team Leader at Garmin and is passionate about recruiting, social media, associate engagement, STEM Outreach, and Diversity and Inclusion. At Garmin, Sara manages a team of eight recruiters and coordinators focused on hiring electrical, mechanical, and software engineering new grads and interns. She has a passion for helping people and loves finding solutions to complex problems in the workplace.

Sara graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations. Prior to joining Garmin, she worked in the accounting and behavioral health industry recruiting entry-level, interns, and experience associates to Kansas City. Director, Talent Acquisition 
Shari Soper has an extensive track record of delivering talent acquisition results at a global, and enterprise wide level that align with strategic business objectives.  She brings expertise in global talent acquisition process design, change management, innovation, and talent branding.  Presently, Shari is the Director of Talent Acquisition for the H&R Block headquarters, where she leads the talent acquisition function and team to deliver the attraction, selection, and onboarding of 80,000+ hires per year.

Prior to H&R Block, Shari spent ten years with Colgate-Palmolive, most recently as Regional Talent Acquisition Leader, The America’s.  Shari was previously on the Board of Directors for the Topeka Performing Arts Center, and also acted as steering committee chair for the Women Empowered Network of Hill’s Pet Nutrition.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Friends University in Wichita, KS.

Fred Wise
HR Director - Recruiting, Diversity & Inclusion

Fred Wise is the Human Resources Director for the Global Talent Acquisition and has led Diversity and Inclusion for Hallmark Cards.  He graduated from the Olin School of Business from Washington University in St. Louis with a BS degree in Business Administrations (1989); and holds an MS degree in Organizational Development from American University & NTL Institute in Washington, D.C. (1996).  

Fred’s human resource experience spans 28 years in the HR field with the Pepsi-Cola Company, Nabisco and Hallmark.  His expertise includes: recruiting, talent management, leadership development; workforce and succession planning; organization development; executive and international compensation; and H.R business partnership. 

He has a strong passion for mentoring and coaching diverse talent and in serving the community.  He has served as a mentor, Membership chair and now a board member of the 100 Black Men of Kansas City.  He has been a multi-year,  Hallmark team captain for Christmas in October – a local non-profit organizations, devoted to making home improvements for the veteran, elderly, disabled and undeserved populations.  He is an active, board member with the Urban League of Greater Kansas City – supporting their strategic empowerment, healthcare and employment initiatives.  And he is a member of the University of Missouri- Kansas City Bloch Management School Advisory Council; focused on advancing the school’s brand and value to the Kansas City business and civic communities.

When time permits, Fred enjoys cycling, fitness, travel and spending time with his family.  He is married with 2 children – one enrolled at University of Missouri in K.C. and the other in High school in Overland Park, Kansas.

Kimberly is a Sr. Staffing Specialist at Honeywell and has a passionate focus on Strategic Staffing, HR Process Development, and managing hiring initiatives for Information Technology, Quality, Program Management, Procurement, and Global Security. Kimberly graduated from Ottawa University with her Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management and has experience in multiple Human Resources roles, alongside management and field marketing experience. Prior to joining Honeywell, Kimberly worked in Talent Acquisition and Field Marketing Departments at H&R Block from 2011-2017.

Brandi RiggsBrandi Riggs is Director, Human Resources at McCownGordon Construction. She leads the Human Resource team to attract and retain the best industry talent through engagement and associate experience initiatives.  She also leads the Wellbeing Team, Inclusion Team (D&I), and Women in Leadership programming at McCownGordon.

Brandi’s background includes sales management, human resources, and organizational development. In addition to the TeamKC Advisory Board, she serves on the Board of Directors as Past President of the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Kansas City, on the Avila Board of Counselors, as a member of the HealthyKC Workplace Wellness Action Team, and on the Board of Directors at her local church.

Brandi has a passion for volunteering in her community, giving back to her profession, serving those around her and seeking opportunities to help and mentor others.

Kristi is the Director of Talent Acquisition at Spring Venture Group where she leads a team of recruiters and HR coordinators to develop, build and deliver innovative hiring and onboarding strategies to align with SVG’s mission. She brings over 20 years of human resources experience, specializing in talent acquisition.

Prior to joining Spring Venture Group in 2019, Kristi was the Manager of Talent Acquisition at H&R Block. She is also the State Director for Missouri State Council of SHRM where she leads a team of 30 volunteers. Kristi has been a SHRM volunteer since 2002.

Sheri Ratliff
Director of Talent Acquisition 

Sheri RatliffSheri Ratliff currently holds the position of director Talent Acquisition at Sprint, with responsibility for all Enterprise recruitment efforts. Responsibilities include partnering with the various business units to forecast future talent needs and identify talent for current opportunities. Driving strategy for recruitment marketing, branding, candidate and manager experience while attracting diverse and qualified candidates.

With more than 16 years at Sprint, Sheri has led a variety of operations and shared services teams, ranging from Payroll, Employee Helpline & Transactions, Commissions, Accounts Payable and HR Technology.

Sheri is actively engaged with several workforce initiatives, holding a seat on the KU Edwards Workforce Advisory board, Kansas City Veterans Coalition, Consumer Technology Association 21st Century Workforce Council and represents Sprint on the Google IT Certificate Program.

Having an insatiable desire to innovate with a focus on organizational effectiveness, Sheri leverages analytics and strategic partnerships to achieve best in class results. This deliberate and precise coordination can be tracked back to her Marine Corp roots. Having brought the vital nutrients to her fellow soldiers now bringing the vital nutrients to Sprint.

Sheri holds a BA in Management from Baker University, emphasis on leadership. Prior to her tenured background in corporate America, Sheri obtained the rank of Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

Jenna is a Kansas City native with a heart for people and for Kansas City’s local sports teams. Her career has been spent in the Midwest serving companies in various human resources departments. Her passions and goals are to attract, train, and retain the top talent for her company’s team because she believes that people are a company’s best asset. She currently serves the entire Superior Bowen family of companies for their HR needs including Inspired Homes, AB Rock, CMTG, and Manchester Pavement Solutions. Her strategic leadership skills bring collaboration and a unique view to the leadership team at Superior Bowen to ensure compliance and enhance the company culture. A graduate from Park University, Jenna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources and went on to receive her Master of Science in Management and Leadership from WGU. She is a certified HR professional from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP), a national SHRM member, a SHRM-KC Member, and a part of the Kansas City Area Development Council as a board member for Team KC. When she’s not connecting with people within the business and local market, Jenna loves connecting with her daughter, running, and cheering on Kansas City’s sports teams.
