TeamKC Scouting Report | We Believe in Miracles...

by Addie Linn | Dec 12, 2018

If you don’t believe in miracles…
Better start now. The “Miracle at Rockhill” is a holiday themed pop-up bar that’s taken over the second floor of Rockhill Grille. Pull out your ugly sweaters and get ready to indulge in the most festive experience of your life. With drinks like the “Christmapolitan” and the “Festivus Fuzz,” you’re sure to have a merry evening. This miracle on Earth won’t be around for long, Santa’s elves are serving up holiday cheer now through New Year’s!

As If You Needed a Reason to Pop Bottles...
But in case you do - KC musician, Julia Haile, is slotted for a series of December performances at Ça Va, KC’s first and only champagne bar. Julia, a multi-genre artist combining jazz, soul, funk and more, will perform with the Julia Haile Trio every Thursday night from 9-11 p.m. for the remainder of the month. Enjoy the sounds of Kansas City over a glass of hand selected bubbly, picked by certified sommelier and fellow KC Creative - Caitlin Corcoran. Do you feel like an insider yet?

Sprichst du Deutsch?
Doesn’t matter. If you’ve ever had an inkling to immerse yourself in German culture - here’s your chance. Goethe Institute, the cultural institute of Germany, is celebrating a year of German-American friendship with pop-ups around the nation and you guessed it - one has landed in KC. Visit the Crossroads location and check out the events calendar for programming like movies, music, cooking and more. Goethe, along with all events, will “pop-down” in November 2019 so… warte nicht!

When you need a ladies night…
Or a ladies day… or a ladies... lifetime? Check out The Nelle, Kansas City’s newest social club for women. The Nelle intends to provide a space and an “elevated lifestyle experience” exclusively for the women of KC. When completed, the space will provide luxury amenities like a gym, spa, coffee, clean eats and more. Although the club hasn’t opened officially they are contracting for events and partnerships in 2019. Follow The Nelle on social for updates!

When you need an excuse to stay home for the holidays…
Isn’t it about time that extended family visit you for a change? If they need convincing, let ‘em know that Kansas City is one of National Geographic’s most exciting destinations of 2019, ranking among spots like Belize and French Polynesia. Yeah, we’re like… kind of a big deal. Nat Geo highlights Kansas City staples like the elite barbecue scene but also praises the revitalization of our urban core and historic West Bottoms. Honestly, there’s really no excuse not to visit us… tell Aunt Susan to book her flight.
