TeamKC Scouting Report | When You Need to LOL

by Jessica Palm | Mar 12, 2018
Repeat after us …
You go girl! Yep, say it loud and proud. Our friends at SmartAsset released its "best cities for women in tech 2018” list, and not only did KC rank among the top 2 cities for the third consecutive year, but it was the only city on the list where women in tech actually make more than men do on average.

The wheels on the bus …
Did you know that only 18% of jobs in the KC metro are accessible by public transit? Umm, yeah that’s a little bit of a problem. It’s expensive to put in a new bus line, so Enterprise Holdings has come up with a pretty cool solution. The company just launched a ridesharing program in KC for employees. The best part? It doesn’t cost your company anything to participate. Get the deets.

When you need to LOL …
Knock, knock. Actually, nah, we’ll leave the jokes to the jokesters. There’s a new open mic spot in Kansas City. The Rino (short for River North) hosts the “Laugh Lab” every Wednesday night, with comedians taking the stage every 5 minutes.

For the kids …
There are 31,000 young people in Kansas City who are neither working nor in school, so leave it to the awesome Mayor Sly James to find something for these kids to do in the community. While the program doesn’t offer free bowties, Hire KC Youth is having a job fair helping kids from across the region find an internship or gig the summer. You should sign up your company to participate.
